Hailing from the tribal community of Khariya in the Simdega district of Jharkhand, Anshu Mala embarked on a remarkable journey towards fulfilling her dream of becoming a chef. This case study explores her inspiring journey and the critical role played by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs in her educational pursuits.

Background

Anshu Mala’s journey began in her remote village of Dongijeria Baghdega, where opportunities for education and career advancement were limited. Determined to break barriers, she moved to Delhi during her childhood to pursue her studies, residing with her aunt while her parents remained in Jharkhand. Anshu Mala’s dream was to excel in the field of hotel management, a dream she aspired to turn into reality.

Educational Pursuits

Currently enrolled in the prestigious IHM Pusa, a top hotel management institute in Delhi, Anshu Mala is relentlessly pursuing her dreams. Her dedication to her studies is matched by her commitment to helping other children from her community access education. She has received financial support from the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, which has been instrumental in enabling her educational journey.

Empowering the Community

Anshu Mala’s mission goes beyond personal success. She is actively working to inspire and support other tribal children in pursuing their education. Her vision is to uplift her small village and empower tribal youth with the gift of education. As an aspiring chef, she is determined to create opportunities not only for herself but for her community as well.

Overcoming Financial Challenges

Anshu Mala faced financial instability that could have deterred her educational aspirations. However, she persevered with the support of her sisters and financial aid from the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). Her education is now financially supported by the government, alleviating the burden on her family and ensuring she can focus on her studies without financial worries.

An Interaction with the Honorable Minister

Anshumala’s dedication and potential were recognized by her college faculty, granting her a unique opportunity to interact with the Honorable Minister. This interaction symbolizes her remarkable journey and the government’s commitment to empowering talented individuals from tribal communities.

Anshumala Sorenge’s journey from Dongijeria Baghdega to IHM Pusa serves as an inspiring example of how education and government support can transform lives. Her dream of becoming a chef is not just a personal aspiration but a beacon of hope for her community. Anshumala’s story underscores the importance of initiatives like the Ministry of Tribal Affairs in providing opportunities to talented individuals and creating positive change in tribal communities.
